World Series: The Perfect Game

On Oct. 8, 1956, Don Larsen pitched the only perfect game in a World Series to date as the New York Yankees beat the Brooklyn Dodgers in Game 5, 2-0.
This was as close as the Brooklyn Dodgers came to getting a hit in the fifth World Series game at Yankee Stadium, New York, Oct. 8, 1956. At top left, a hot second inning bouncer off the bat of Jackie Robinson glances off the glove of Yankee third baseman Andy Carey. Yanks\' shortstop Gil McDougald, breaking up the play, top right, fields the defected ball. He throws to first baseman Joe Collins in time to beat Robinson.
