On Oct. 8, 1956, Don Larsen pitched the only perfect game in a World Series to date as the New York Yankees beat the Brooklyn Dodgers in Game 5, 2-0.

Close, but not enough
This was as close as the Brooklyn Dodgers came to getting a hit in the fifth World Series game at Yankee Stadium, New York, Oct. 8, 1956. At top left, a hot second inning bouncer off the bat of Jackie Robinson glances off the glove of Yankee third baseman Andy Carey.
