Check out some of America's off the beaten path attractions to add to your summer vacation plan.
The Corn Palace established in 1892 in Mitchell, S.D., was a meeting place for early settlers to bring their harvests. Farmers displayed their goods on the building exterior in order to prove the fertility of the soil, a tradition that continues in some way even today. Each year the tourist attraction is decorated with corn, grain and grasses to go along with an annual theme.
